Summer School Instructors & Subs – Hubbs Center, Saint Paul or Online

Hubbs Center (SPPS Adult Basic Education) is seeking Summer School Instructors and Subs to teach adult learners online or at Hubbs Center from June 20 – August 17. Currently, we are seeking:1. Online teacher for an intermediate ELL class 9:30-11:30 a.m., Monday through Thursday. Online teachers can teach from anywhere.2. In person teacher for a beginning ELL class, 9:30-1:30 Monday through Thursday.3. In person teacher for ABE Reading Lab (pre-GED reading class for L1 learners) 10:30-12:30 Monday through Thursday.4. Subs for summer classes.5. Evening in person teachers for ELL classes starting in September. 5 pm – 8 pm Monday through Thursday.Books/curriculum materials are available for all classes. Hubbs Center, part of SPPS Community Education, was recently named Minnesota’s Best Adult Learning program by the Star Tribune. Our students come from the U.S. and more than 50 other countries around the world. The majority of Hubbs Center students are between the ages of 20 and 50. Minimum Qualifications: A valid Minnesota teaching license (ABE/ELL/related) OR master’s degree (ABE/ELL/education-related).Rate of pay: $30 per hour for teachers with a valid MN teaching license; $22 per hour for teachers with a master’s degree but no teaching license.
