Membership Policy for Literacy Action Network

Literacy Action Network (LAN) is a statewide professional membership organization whose mission is to develop, improve, and expand adult literacy services by coordinating public policy advocacy, fostering statewide collaboration, facilitating professional development, and supporting quality Adult Basic Education (ABE).

Membership is open to professionals, educators, students and advocates who share this mission and are committed to working together to strengthen Adult Education in the state of Minnesota.

Renewal Information:

We asked and you shared your thoughts! LAN membership will continue to follow the fiscal year beginning July 1st until June 30th of the following year. Starting May of 2026, LAN will honor all renewals submitted during early-bird registration (May 1st to June 30th) with a start date of July 1st, 2026 to June 30th, 2027 (fiscal year 2027). This is to encourage early registration for the annual Summer Institute conference at a discounted rate for members – as well as a two-month grace period to renew memberships for the following year. Applications submitted within this timeframe may be invoiced (or dated) to July 1st per request.

Can I renew within this timeframe without registering for the conference? Yes!

I’d like to be invoiced on July 1st. Is that possible? Yes, you can request for this whether it is for early-bird registration, membership renewal or both. Payment will be due within 30 days. Contact Wendy Lindblom at [email protected] to request this.

Can I be billed automatically every year for membership? Yes! Starting in 2026, you can opt in to receive an auto renewal invoice for membership.

What happens if I purchase a membership outside of this timeframe? Any other membership renewal outside of the timeframe (July 1st to April 30th) will end on June 30th of the current fiscal year.
