ESL Volunteers – Lyndale Neighborhood Association

LNA is seeking volunteers to teach weekly English classes. Our classes are free of charge and are attended by adults of many ages and linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
Key responsibilities: Teach a group of LNA students, class sizes range depending on location but are usually 5-15 students, using provided lesson plans
Locations include:
  • Blaisdell YMCA, 3335 Blaisdell Avenue South
  • Sagrado Corazon, 3801 Pleasant Avenue
  • Sabathani Community Center, 310 E 38th Street
  • Horn Towers, 3110 Blaisdell Avenue
Classes with the greatest need:
  • Blaisdell YMCA: Fridays from 6-8pm
  • Horn Towers: Mondays and Wednesdays from 2-4pm
Requirements:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Dependable, prompt, and able to work respectfully with others
  • Ability to make a weekly commitment preferred
  • Volunteer application and orientation
