Adult Basic Ed Literacy Assistant – Student Support Location: Adult Education Center- Columbia Heights/Fridley, 4111 Central Ave NE, Columbia Heights Part-Time: 12 months/139 days/5.5 hrs a day Schedule: Tuesday – Thursday; 8:30 am – 2:00 pm Duties: Support ABE teachers and learners in lower level adult ESL classes: assist in online instructional breakout rooms, administer progress testing in the areas of English language reading and listening skills on CASAS, and via other provided tools; monitor student attendance; conduct student follow up contact; track student data; and support volunteers. Training is provided on online instructional tools and standardized testing. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to work on a team. Ability to be flexible and function well in a busy environment. Ability to maintain regular attendance, which includes completing an assigned day. Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds. Ability to perform position responsibilities including physical factors, work devices and materials handling, data functions, and people functions. Must be physically working in the building/on site. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in an ABE academic program preferred. Experience working with diverse populations, ESL learners, and adult learners preferred. Experience with technology (Google Workspace) preferred. BA/BS degree preferred. Bilingual skills a plus. Rate of pay: $16.25/hour Start Date: ASAP.
